Have you ever wanted to know whether you were receiving a historically lower price for any Amazon product? Well, there’s a (web)app for that! CamelCamelCamel.com allows you to check the prices of most products on Amazon.com by simply entering the Amazon url of the product on to the CamelCamelCamel website. You can even set price alerts so that CamelCamelCamel will notify you via email or Twitter when a product has dropped to your desired price.
To Prime or Not To Prime: Amazon Prime Probably Not Worth It
Amazon has been offering its Prime service since 2005. This service includes some unique features such as 2-day shipping on many items that are fulfilled from Amazon, access to thousands of movies and tv shows, and the ability to borrow many Kindle books. However, are you really getting your money’s worth by getting this premium service?
The price of a Prime subscription is $79/year ($39/year for students), but unless you are using Amazon often, the pricetag is probably not worth it.
The Simple Dollar wrote a great analysis on the value of Amazon Prime. His conclusion?
Is that worth it? It really depends on the things that you buy. I will say that the larger your family is, the more likely it is that you’ll find Prime to be worthwhile.
